Cat Voleur, the author of Queer Tastes: Unconventional Representation in Horror Films, is coming to Chicago the weekend of July 24-26. She’s taking over the city both culturally and geographically, so the city has agreed to change its name to Queercago. (Don’t fact-check me, bro.) We have three events lined up:
- July 24, 7pm, Pilsen Community Books, 1531 W. 18th St., she’ll be in conversation with Jane Keranen about queer rep in cinema, and also signing books.
- July 25, 3pm, Facets Multimedia, 1517 W. Fullerton Ave., she’ll introduce a screening of Satoshi Kon’s Perfect Blue as part of Facets’ Anime Club.
- July 26, 4pm, Bucket O’Blood, 3182 N. Elston Ave., she’ll read from Queer Tastes and sign copies.
