The first From Beyond Press Broadside brings together two poets of trauma in a framable artwork that’s sure to upset your houseguests. Joe Koch’s story is about a woman he once met who died often. Like a stain, he hasn’t ever gotten her off him, not completely. Every word of it is true. Silver’s illustrations bring the story to grisly, vivid life using deceptively cute feline characters, like sadistic, heavily armed gangu toys. This project is not for the faint of heart or stomach.

Only 100 copies will be printed, each one signed by author and illustrator.

Joe Koch (he/they) writes literary horror and surrealist trash. Their books include The Wingspan of Severed Hands, Convulsive, Invaginies, and The Couvade, which received a 2019 Shirley Jackson Award nomination. His short works appear in Nightmare Magazine, Southwest Review, Vastarien, The Mad Butterfly’s Ball, and many others. Find Joe at horrorsong.blog.

Silver (blacksugarpill) is an illustrator with a love for horror media, the macabre, cats and alternative fashion; all of which are prevalent in his artwork. He is based in New Jersey, currently traveling the east coast to attend and vend at more punk rock flea markets. Creating art and connecting with other artists are his biggest passions in life, along with coffee and donuts.
